open the case and remove it. should take a minute or 2.

If you are looking so that you can add more RAM, don't bother.....you don't need to match the manufacturer, ONLY THE TYPE......go to www.crucial.com for decent prices. Also, the site has a ram finder based on your computer type.

You can use a freeware diagnostic tool. Everest 1.51 will tell you what RAM you currently have in your computer. Most memory manufactures haveutilities on their site to anlyze your computer and tell you.
You could also access the computer documents on the manufactures website of the company that built your computer or motherboard.
