I'm the only gay one in the family. Only three family members know that. One of them is responsible for it.

It's a proven fact that the more older brothers a boy has, the more likely it is that he will be gay. Moreover, this trend is visible only if the boy's mother has had other male children; it is not observed when a boy has several step-brothers. One hypothesized mechanism underlying this trend is a maternal immune response to successive male fetuses.

My family was small: it was just myself, my mother, and my father. However, both of them had been married before and had children through those partnerships. I have an older half-brother and a half-sister from my father, and an older half-brother from my mother.

So I was only the second son she had, and I'm gay. However, my half-brother was 17 years my senior, so maybe time lag had something to do with it, too. I consider myself fortunate to have the correct number of chromosomes, to be honest. :)

I'm an only child, male.

You can't test a hypothesis with a non-random self-selected sample -- and by nature that's what the internet provides - btw.

One older sister...four years older. Interesting theory. I am interested as to what you find...though from what I have seen so far it seems random...
