Little things are always a good way to go. Try some candy, a nice razor, maybe a small bottle of cologne, socks, photos of the two of you.... there are endless possibilities

Heather,
Socks, razors and the shaving cream to go with them are all good ideas. But maybe think about what your BF is really like and include things like a magazine about his interests, a special type of edible treat that doesn't need refridgeration, a masculine scented soap, a special picture of you, along with the other necessities in a care package. Things like deoderant, facial tissues or a handkerchief/bandanna, hair product and comb or brush.

Razors and socks are always useful. You could also get him some really nice aftershave and deodourant. Some nice soap. Does he use hankies? (sorry, hard to know when I don't know the guy), if he does, some nice monogrammed hankies.
What does he drink? If he likes beer, get different types of imported beer. If he likes chocolate, get some indulgent kinds of chocolates. If he likes spirits, you could get some mini bottles of spirits. If he likes wine, get some mini bottles of wine. You could also look along the lines of a really nice beer glass, or spirit glass, or wine glass to go with any of those.
What are his interests or hobbies? Does he like sport? Does he like cars? You could get him a magazine subscription for a hobby or interest. If that is too much, maybe just throw in a couple of magazines relating to something he enjoys, it doesn't have to be a subscription.

I'm not sure where your boyfriend is. Is he in the armed forces or is he in jail? If he's in the armed forces he would need:
under wear, toothbrush and toothpaste, socks, shoes, blankets, deodorant, lotion, bug spray, and any kind of food that you could send.
If your 'boyfriend' is in jail send to him some of the things above, but be careful because if you make jail pleasant he might go back after he is released.
I hope that I have been some help to you.

My dear hubby was overseas for xmas one year. So we set the tree up earlier than usual and put some presents under it (for him when he got home) and snapped some pics of it and of our precious little one playing with ornaments. I grabbed up a bunch of past christmas pics of everyone and put them in a photo album for him to see and show buddies. Then I put in a 12-18 inch tree and small strand of lights and deco for it. and folded up paper for them to wrap gifts with. (they choose to do a gift exchange. Then I grabbed up enough stockings for everyone and with help from family to cover costs I got candy to fill every one up and included those sausage and cracker things you get with the mustard and squeeze cheese. (more than two or three) I hit up sams club and got the mini bottles of liqour for spiking egg nog with. Then I got him some cute little gifts with promise of much better later. I sent hime pop, special cd of our songs, a nice new non army colored t shirt coated in my prefume, and the family all sent stuff to. All of his gifts were wrapped but they said they got massagers, and slippers, stuff that is out of the ordinary. We also thanks to donation sent the entire platoon each a really nice watch with an engraved thank you in a special tin for the guys. I recieved a lengthly thank you letter from all the guys. Hubby came home to a new recliner and xbox with all the extras. SO instead of soap and all that I would send stuff that would be different and that could be shared by everyone. Just my two cents.
