For instance, I answered xmisery's question and wished her a good evening. Someone gave me a "thumbs down". That just seems mean to me.

idk! it really downs make me get all sad, but i mean, what can we do? i give everyone thumbs up..unless your mean, then i just leave you alone..or if you REALLY mean and insulting, then you get a thumbs down

I wouldn't know. I just looked back at some questions I had answered yesterday, just to read what other people put, one girl answer the exact way I did minutes later, she had a thumbs up, and i had a thumbs down. Where is the logic in that really? I think some people do it to make their answers look better. And i think some people do it out of lack of respect for other's opinions. Any other reason, such as a rude, or unappropriate answer could be flagged instead of given a thumbs down. I think they should do away with the thumbs down. It is just another way for people to be jerks to each other on here, and we have enough ways for people to that already. Just a little unkind jesture like that can ruin a person's day. Some people don't think before they do, nor do they care about anyone but themselves.

Who cares? It doesn't really matter how many thumbs down you get. It doesn't affect anything.
