I need help, in school we have a bonus question, i can't figure out the answer, can you help?

7+(8*5)*5-40=X X=?

first you do whats in parenthesis so
7 + (40)*5 - 40 =x
then you do the multiplication
7 + 200 - 40 = x
then you do the adding and subtracting
x = 167

7+40*5-40 = x (first, solve the parenthesis => 8*5 = 40)
7+200-40 = x (here, you could also subtract 200-40 = 160, then add 7, if this is more obvious. In that case: 160 + 7 = 167, for the left side)
207-40 = x
167 = x

check:

7+40*5-40 = 167
7 + 200 - 40 = 167
207-40 = 167
167 = 167
OK!

x = 167

B=brackets
E=exponents
D=division
M=multiplication
A=addition
S=subtraction
