It drives me nuts when they constantly focus on the instruments when covering the band Last time I checked the reason the bands are fun to watch is because of the Flag, pom, and drill lines. They are the visual part of a marching band

What do you think?

I'm not saying not to cover the band just not to solely cover the band.

I love the drill lines myself. I think I agree that they spend too much time on the instruments. But, I almost never get to SEE parades anymore. I'm always on the road Thanksgiving morning, missing the big macy's Thanksgiving Day parade.

Yes, the flag corp, pom and drill lines are the visual part and they look really nice, but they need music to move to! People in marching bands get a bad rap. Unless you play an instrument, you might not appreciate them. It takes a lot of talent for these people to move together in straight rows while playing instruments properly and keeping a beat!

Hi,I though I was the only one who was annoyed at these parade broadcasts. They set up their booth along parade path blocking the vision of the viewers. You could see part of the parade passing behind them. They would talk their heads off, then turn around to view a band or float.I do not know how many went by behind them, but there were a lot of motor mouths going during the parade.Last time I will watch one on TV.Where are the people who know what they are doing? ROSCO

No, here's why.I'm in a band and I know that I get kinda pissed because they cover the color guard(flags) just because i play trumpet... im not important... who do you think is making the music they are twirling to? ME! and I don't even get any credit... really, if you were in band ...you would understand. maybe the camera guy was in band when he was a kid and knows how it feels. you never know.
