well theres the offensive line first off ( left and right tackle and guard, and the center) they block the defense, and the center snaps teh ball to the quarter back, who hands it off to the running back or fullback, tho the fullback is usaully a blocker for the running back, or he thros it to a wide reciever, who mainly runs a se route and catches the ball, or he will throw to a tight end who does a mix of both blocking and catching

and on teh defense you have the defenseive line, ( 2 tackles and ends, some teams use only one tackle) the tackle is the one(s) in the middle of the line and are usually good at run stopping, well the ends have speed and rush the quarterback, the line backers ( middle, left and right, sometimes less dependin on the play) support the line when someone gets past, sometimes they will rush the quarterback aswell, and then you have the corner backs ( left and right sometimes more dependin on the play ), who cover the wide recievers, and then the safties ( strong and free ) who usaully stay back to support the cornerbacks incase they miss a tackle on the wide reciever, sometimes one will come up to support against the run or to rush the quarterback
