Don't even bother with them.
If you're talking about one of those gimmics were some guy at the coffee shop asks you to join their business or you have a friend who's trying to build a pyramid of associates to gain points you're just waisting you're time (and in some cases, money.)
Unless you obsess over it, you're chances are near non existant. If you do, it would take well over a year of miseary trying to hold your life together while making this a full time job, and then you're still having trouble making ends meet.
Plus, a good handfull of these are scams.
The next time DC Intl. or Americorp trys to recruit you, or some guy at work or in the book store thinks you'd be good at business and "has one of his own", just say: "sure I'd be glad to go" and then predict if you'll get enough free food for the gas trip out there.

It is totally possible. IF you are willing to put in the effort. The problem that most people have is that they don't understand the difference between having a job and a business of their own. A lot of times people will say that their "thing" will not take any work or investment, but will result in gobs of money from the start. Truth is that anything will take some investment, work, and time. I'm not going to give you my site here, but if you are willing to put in the time to find me, I will show you what allowed my wife to quit teaching in less than 1 year. No pressure, it is all up to you.

Probably somewhere between slim and none. Anyone who comes on Answers with no avatar, no profile and no 360 page that wants to be successful in business is a dreamer, not an achiever. How many times do you need to ask the same question?

You can really make money from it but in order to achieve your goal of getting profits, start with leading bunch of traffic to your website you can do that by submitting your site to the search engines, reading ways to get more traffic and you can also buy online tips or software that will bring millions of visitors to your site.
