Robins are around all year but are not as obvious in the summer due to the increased foliageb and the abundance of other birds. Listen to a robin and learn its song and in the summer you will be surprised how often you hear it

Robins are around, with their red plumage, all year round. Its just that during the summer there are a lot of other garden birds about so the robins are less obvious. In the winter, there are fewer other birds (migrations and so on) and so the robin appears to be seen more frequently.

Red always reminds me of a hot climate and UK weather is certainly not that in the Winter. Would it not be better to rename them as Robin Blue T*ts ...

It is a myth that people only see robins in the winter. Yes they look pretty on christmas cards so may tend to be associated with the winter weather. But in the borders of scotland you see them everyday. They are so timid and friendly and often feed close to people also.

?? You don't! They are native to this country throughout the year, and their plumage doesn't change. If you were looking, you'd see them all year round. I guess you only see them at this time of year because you're actively looking for them.

They're always around. (Maybe the red colouration is more intense in winter so you notice them ?)
