you are boyh and then some. you know where your body ends but where does your mind end? certainly not at the edge of your skin and where does your mind end and mine begin or are they connected to the overmind or oversoul as Emerson referred to it.all good questions but still need some pondering on a formal level.

I am both but the mind is more important. The mind controls the body. The mind is "me." The body is really just a vessel for my mind/spirit. If my body became paralyzed but my mind was still intact, I would still be me. If my mind shut down, I would no longer exist. Braindeath is death. I think, therefore I am. Without this ability, I would not be me. Don't get me wrong, I like my body! It comes in handy! Tee hee...but the mind/the spirit is the real person and when the body dies, it is the spirit that rises & continues to exist in another dimension (Heaven hopefully!)

:)

Just my viewpoint...

You're your mind and your body is a tool the mind can maneuver to fit its interest. The mind can manipulate the body to its will in the subtlest of ways, or the most drastic of ways. The will is in the mind. The will forces the body to do things it doesn't wish to do yet can be forced to obey.

Does that make sense?

Mind cannot exist without body and body cannot exist without mind. All mental functioning is in electro-magnetic form. The seat of all this activity is the brain. Brain pertains to the physical body. So if body ceases to exist then there is no mental activity, the mind ceases all functions. "I think therefore I am". I'd like to add to this statement, "I am therefore I think". I am both mind and body in one.
