well...I am here at home was not monitoring my husband...I let my guard down and He has gone from room to room tossing the furniture everywhere. He drank everything in the house..beer and wine..He is not upset, he said, about anything. He just went nuts.

I just put him to bed...he has been a drinker for over ten years. There is a cycle to this behavior. I do not work in this field. I work with other types of mental illness. ...what is your experience? thanks....
(..I think I will post a joke next!)...this marriage is just a bad dream right?

It's very simple. There comes a time in life when the problems of another must cease to become your own. It does not matter how much you love this person. You must simply say to him quit it or I'm leaving. Punctuate your threat by leaving for a week right there and then. He will either get the message or not. Either way you will be free from HIS demons and able to move on with life.

He needs to go to rehab for detox, he needs to go to therapy and then AA.

You can not change him, he had to want to do it.

If you have kids, you are teaching them that this is ok. If you cover for him, IE call work to say he is sick if he is hungover - you are enabling him.

He needs to take responsibility for himself and you need to take responsibility for yourself. You will get to a point where you no longer can deal with it. Then you will split or kick him out. You deserve better and you know it.

I got a divorce, my ex- shrink said he was Peter Pan and I enabled him, I was his Wendy.

I try to keep all the booze on my room so I can drink it before the SOB does. I just hate it when he gets ahead of me. Then I have to break down his door after the @!#$%$#&^ has passed out and try to sneak the remnnats into my room and guzzle it like crazy because I sure don't want to have to face him sober after I've ripped off all of his hooch!
