Dangerous Angels by Francesca Lia Block (it's actually a compilation of a series of books, but works as one); technically it's young adult fiction without genre, but I'd call it somewhat fantastical.
And, of course, The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley; absolute fantasy and re-working of the Arthurian myth in a way I've never seen done before.
They are both beautiful books I continue to look back on and love to flip through.

Ernest Hemingway's 'A Moveable Feast.'
It's a memoir of his early 20's in Paris.

Gabriel Garcia Marquez writes Magical Realism. Magical Realism was first used to describe an artistic style, but came to describe work of certain Latin American writers.
Fantastic Realism is a artistic style. There is a Viennese school of art formed in the 40's that is the base for Fantastic Realism.
(I agree, Gabriel Garcia Marquez is an amazing writer.)

In my youth, I really liked John Steinbeck in his "Travels with Charlie" and "Grapes of Wrath", and then, later, I added "Walden", sometimes known as Walden Pond by Henry David Thoreau, and then, the more I read, the more times I found some really great books, but those are my all time favorites. God Bless you.

Douglas Adams--Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
My dad read it when he was my age and I picked up his old copy. I love Adams' sense of humor and all of his books. The movie stunk though.
Science fiction.
