swollen breast in the first week can be normal. It can also happen when there has been a long separation from the mother or when breastfeeding has been stopped too suddenly. This is only temporary problem and will sort itself once your body get used to breast feeding.

Tips:
*Wear a comfortable, supporting bra that is not too tight.
*Take bra off to feed when able and let the milk flow freely from the second breast onto a towel.
*Massage your breast gently during feeds

You mean your breast, yeah. Well swelling is not normal, large filled breast are. Swelling with or without pain can be a sign of a cloged milk duct (massage breast in hot shower, excretting milk) or much more serious Mastisis, either way if it does not subside by Monday you should see your doctor Monday or be seen in a walk in clinic

NOPE...NOTHING AT ALL...IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME...I WOULDN'T KNOW HOW MUCH IT HURTS BUT I'VE HEARD...well as a male 14 year old I just imagine how a cat and dog must feel...lol
it's ok though thats a small thing that happens during the infant years, u can see a doctor but he'll probably tell u the same thing...it's natural...good luck and Merry Christmas...oh and one more thing don't believe anyone on here because they just tell u what they've heard...see a doctor, a female one...because at least with them u know it's true but on here it can be false and it may just give u a scare. unless u know they have a medical/doctorate degree then go ahead and believe what they say but if not, just be careful....

It sounds like you have Mastitis. My wife use to suffer from this all the time.
We have a show on Tv here in Australia called The New Inventers and saw a product called Booby Bib. We bought one and she has not had any trouble since. www.boobybibs.com.au
give it shot it worked for us.

Is it because you are engorged? Do they hurt or ooze yucky stuff? That is a good question for your doctor.

maybe you are starting to make more milk because your baby needs it more due to growing bigger?
