some of them yes, they are just like you, I have a lot of teacher friends, some are old fashion and some party hardy, they just have an obligation to be a good role model for you.

I think teachers are pretty much like any other adult professionals. Most professional people have a work personality, but it's even more important for teachers because of the role they play. I have been teaching high school for 10 years. I joke around with my kids in the classroom and share personal stories to make a point, but I definitely know that kids are not my "buddies". Teachers do have lives outside of school. We laugh, go to parties, shop, cry, eat, cook, just like "regular" people.....We are people too!

Of course! The teachers that are cool in school are usually pretty cool to hang out with outside of school as well. I run into former students all the time and they are always shocked that I drive a cool car, that I blast my music, that I smoke, that I order drinks at resturants.
As a teacher I want to know if any kids are cool outside of school.

I think a lot of them can be. I just hung out with a former teacher last night and it wasn't awkward at all. I learned that she really knew how to have fun. It's also nice to be able to talk to them because they give great advice. Teachers are people just like us and have the same chance of being just as cool.

teachers are just like anyone else, some are cool and some are not. i am a teacher and some of my coworkers are cool and some are not. the thing is, you don't have to like your teachers. they are not supposed to be your friends. it should be more about respect. they have a job to do and so do you. if they are cool, that is great, but (in my experience) that gets taken advantage of, so it's hard to be cool when it will only cause problems down the line.

Well, think about this. Those teachers certainly are somebody's son/dau; very likely somebody's mom/dad, grandpa/grandma, husband/wife/significant other- and are special to them. My 3rd grade teacher was the pits (I thought- I would not yet say that she was 'cool')- but, her husband used to come and see her at school breaks- he obviously liked her... I was amazed. The thing is, a teacher is in a position to discipline, keep order, counsel and at the same time try to teach something- They can't just party party party with the students.

I see some of my teachers outside of school all the time. They do act different than in the classroom and some can seem pretty cool. It sure is awkward if you're alone, though.

Yes there are some cool teachers, however, usually the ones that are cool outside of school are pretty cool inside of school too. One day you'll have a teacher that you like and he/she may change your life. It's too bad there are so many that aren't in touch with their students.

teachers are human too!!
why do you not like them?? if you treat them as you would like them to treat you-with respect ,there should be no problem.
thier job is to get you to the required level of education,( to teach you!) if you do not make the effort to listen, complete tasks,do homework on time- then not only are you not helping yourself- you are making thier job very difficult- and i doubt if you will be the popular person in thier class if this is the case.
