We have the same for Bingo. I would say candles or a candy dish would be good for Christmas.

There are different types of "white elephant " gift exchanges, not all are gag gifts or something used from home. It can mean an anonymous gift exchange. You need to check what kind of white elephant gift exchange is being done or you could be very embarrassed. If it is an anonymous gift exchange there is usually a maximum amount stated for cost. I have been involved in both kinds in the past. I have even done the one where you receive a number and that is the order in which you choose a gift. There was also an addendum that instead of choosing a gift under the tree you could trade with someone who already has a gift. I do not remember if you open the gift immediately- but I think we did. That way the next person can pick a gift someone has already opened. I am sure there are many variations. Wikipedia mentions some of the variations I have seen. I much prefer the real gifts instead of regifting unwanted gifts or gag items. It is much more fun to play with real gifts and choosing numbers . Choosing numbers doesn't really work with gag gifts, because no one cares what they receive. You can have some nice gifts with a 10-20 $ limit.

Elephants like to eat grass, shrubs, leaves, roots, bark. I assume this is the same even if the elephant is albino. Since an elephant eats 16 hours a day, I don't think they would really appreciate any other present.
Why would you buy an elephant a present?
