How do creationist explain metamorphic mountain tops. Anyone who knows a little about geology knows that it would take quite a bit of time for a metamorphic rock formation to get to a mountain height. I am curious as to how creationist explain this one.

For those curious about the creationist explanation of metamorphic rock, below is a link you can check out. There are only two times in history that a creationist can suggest as times of formation of metamorphic rock, the first being the 3rd Day of Creation, Formation of Dry Land, the other being the Noahide Flood, which have been used to explain everything from the Grand Canyon to the Himalayas and even oceans. Creationists reject physical uniformitarianism, which is that physical laws have been consistent and unchanging (or nearly so), in favor of catastrophism, where laws are suspended or drastically altered for short periods of time.
Addendum: Hey, for you naysayers, I'm not a creationist!

Metamorphic rocks are rocks that have "morphed" into another kind of rock. These rocks were once igneous or sedimentary rocks. How do sedimentary and igneous rocks change? The rocks are under tons and tons of pressure, which fosters heat build up, and this causes them to change. If you exam metamorphic rock samples closely, you'll discover how flattened some of the grains in the rock are.

Creationist don't seem to sweat any of the details of creation. It just is.It is interesting though that the more we understand certain laws or theories many things become even more plausible. What was last years science fiction becomes next years science fact.Their final excuse I would imagine is is that God is eternal or timeless and that with his knowledge and power all things become possible.Turning a piece of coal into a diamond becomes easier and faster than we originally thought. Comparatively mountains aren't any different. Many seem to hinge creationism on the six day time frame.I'm not a bible thumper but time is irrelevant when true knowledge is superior in power. Some might compare God to the Force from star wars. God may simply be all inclusive all knowledge and all power.Once you have achieved immortality other knowledge becomes much easier to understand as an academic.

...hello.
it has been a while since i scanned a geology text and so i don't at this time recall what this variety of mineral is exactly. but if you can accept a short reply from a person that believes in creationism and evolution without even a slight discrepancy then here it is.......
i explain the creation of the mineral world by noticing that minerals are solidified forms of energy (this is indisputable) which exist because of the conditions which created them in the first place (but is a sequence within a series of provable earthly and celestial manifestations of energies)...(these seem separate and distinct but are actually inter-dependent).
the mineral world (metamorphic class included) is changing constantly albeit relatively slowly when compared with other life and vegetable forms.
and the changing of the mineral world is possible because what created these in the beginning continues to be a force in their creation and disintegration ......
as was set out in the beginning and governed by the relationship of the forces and conditions co-creative by a Creator.
see how simple this intelligent design and (d)evolution actually is.
no dispute whatsoever.
good question though...you are an astute minded scientist/seeker.
be well

There's really no point in arguing reason with a religious person.
They have FAITH, they don't need logic.
