If you have an existing wholesale company complete with supplier relationships, inventory financing, inventory management system, shipping, billling, collections, and customer service, it's entirely possible; all you are doing is adding another sales channel. If you are starting from scratch, you'll have to learn the business and roll out the technology at the same time, which is very difficult.

This is/can be a very controvesial topic, so I'll keep it simple ( there simply isn't enough room here to full explain this topic)
Yes, its very possible, and furthermore a very lucrative business at this time with over 1.5 million people doing business on E-Bay alone (worldwide)-not to mention severla hundred other auction sites. Currently in the home business realm, the trend to have internet sites, that in 2005 did over 1.6 billion dollars in retail sales, and is projected to break the 3 billion dollar mark in 2007. The trick in sales volume seems to lie in the ability to effectively advertise the site in question, and furthermore, supply a service or product that is so effective that the competition doesn't stand a chance for the best advertiseing still seems to be word of mouth, via to personal testamony. Another issue seems to be the cost of shipping. Many sites have the market cornered on price, but the cost of shipping is the breaking point for many consumers. I currently have several businesses, and help others to create, establish and run businesses successfully. If interested, I would be willing to mentor you (free, of course), and can help you with other questions, concerns, and even provide a business model if interested.
