Ok, Ok Federer is number 1 on Grass, number 1 on Hardcourt and number 2 on Clay. but I dont think that Nadal (even though he reached the Wimbledon Finals) is number 2 on grass, or hardcourts. So who is

I think if you go by career results, Lleyton Hewitt has 1 Wimbledon title, while Andy Roddick has zero. If you go by Queen's Club championships (Lleyton had four, while Andy has three). Queen's Club is arguably the second biggest grasscourt tournament in the world after Wimbledon. Lleyton is #2 on grass, while Andy is #3 if you base it on career results, and the fact Lleyton has been the better pro on grass throughout their careers. The #2 player on hardcourts is arguably Marat Safin, since he has won the Australian Open and US Open in his career, while Roddick and Hewitt have won the US Open, but neither has won the Australian Open, but Hewitt has reached
the final Down Under, so I would give Hewitt the edge over
Roddick on hardcourts. When Safin has his head on, he
can beat anyone, including Federer, as evidenced by his
win over Federer at the 2005 Australian Open.

nadal isnt 2 on grass or hard, but hes really close. right now i'd say it is between nalbandian, lubjicic and blake. you normally dont hear too much about them because of federer and nadal, so its hard to say which one is #2 on either grass or hard. nalbandian did get to the wimbledon final once, and he did well this year at wimbledon, so i think he is #2 on grass. on hardcourt, lubjicic has gone down, and nalbandian lost to federer in shanghai. blake came out in 1st place from the second group. so on hardcourt, lubjicic, nadal, blake and nalbandian are all at about the same level...yet FAR below federer.

no.2 player on hardcourt would be a choice among many , I would say , Blake coz he , Nadal and Davydenko have won the secong highest no of tournaments this year , (5 each) .But Nadal 's won most on clay .Grass , going by this year , it would be Nadal , he was runnerup @ BigW and qfinalist at Queens .
