If I decide to install it, what must I do to prepare to do so? I am new at this. My computer has WinXP, Exp 7. Norton is featured but this is a used computer (cleaned out) but new to me and I don't know if I need to disinstall anything first.

Spysweeper is an EXCELLENT tool to have. What it does is, that it keeps monitoring for any spyware that wants to leak into your computer. When you run it to do scan it basically scans every file in your machine and it tells you what it bad and what you should do to it. Most likely you are going to delete them, but it quarenteens it for you in case you are not sure to delete it. Most likely it is safe to delete it if it finds it as a threat.

Good Luck

Why would you want to purchase Webroot Spysweeper when you can get excellent free antispyware programs.

Here are some links I use:

http://www.grisoft.com Download their AVG antivirus program will become free in thirty days if you don't purchase. They will just remove the guard and the auto updates. You update manual.

http://www.emsisoft.com Download the A2Squared Malware free version. Scans all 207,000 object, in my pc, as rootkit scanner, rogue dialer, malware, spyware and trojan spyware.

http://www.superantispyware.com Download their free for home use version. Usually finds what all others miss. Scans 207,000 object in my system.

http://www.lavasoft.com Download their free for home personal use Ad-aware Se Personal. They have been around long before any body ever thought of spyware
