Gatsby is killed in his pool in what is thought to be one of the last good days of the year to use the pool which would indicate its late summer or early fall. Nick Leaves a few weeks after that. We know he stays there a few weeks more because he mentions that he spends his Saturday nights in New York. On his last night there he mentions most of the houses there are closed up which would indicate its probably late Sept/Oct as most of those are summer houses.

I think that the other "bad driver" Jordan is talking about is Nick. She is still upset about their failed relationship and thinks Nick is dishonest.

Nick goes home around the time of Gatby's death... I think though the other driver Jordan was talking about was a metaphor meaning if the other drivers are careful then she does not have to.

Been a long time since I read that one but I do believe you have to read between the lines to get it. Fitzgerald, I don't think, came right out and said it. And as such, it needs to be your own idea... what you think.
