Pollution, of course. They ran on coal. Less labor was required meaning less workers. Mass produced items all identical and the almost disappearance of intricate handworked articles. These are a few.

Just like today with computers they use less man/woman power, less salaries. Time is of the essence when manufacturing so the machine was faster. Example: Sewing Machine vs. hand sewn.
Also they were priding themselves on how efficiently the machines were doing in comparison to mankind. But forgot the man/woman had to eat. To look good as well as being pompous about the situation they paid by salary many people to operate the machines, but that is still slavery, they never had a chance to live as the people that owned the patents, and the companies. That is why we formed unions. Read the book about the woman factory worker, "Norma Rae" or rent the DVD. (Sally Field, won an Oscar for her performance."
The funny thing is about Industrialists and Inventors none of them are Ben Franklin or Thomas Jefferson who gave back to society, and where Jefferson died broke because he gave back to the nation he helped to build, others just take take take, me, me, me.
And they can stomach the view when they see the homeless without weeping in sorrow, for those hungry faces. But I wonder if they could stomach the smell if they were put into the homeless position and would they survive in an alley under wet cardboard boxes in the freezing cold.

The industrial revolution brought a complete change in the social economic and political well being of Europe. first the new machines spead the quest for new nations -imperialism
it brought pollution over crowding of cities emergence of new small towns, it also brought specialisation of jobs and factories.these factories in a deplorable condition and there were no rights for workers i cant remember but the exact date offhand but eventually led to the emergence of trade unions.there was a change in governance in britian from the whig to tory. but before i mention that i should of said that with the industrial revolution there was a movement from the agricultural society to industrial this movement placed many on the job market as the only thing these garmers new was to plant there was now the emergence of larer farms with more advanced machinery that overrode the small farmers these machines improved production by 15% they could do the work of 15 men.the market now became capital intensive meaning it depended on capital to by machines to work the land rather than labour intensive which depened on man. another point was that the emergence of steam engines also caused new towns to pop up these were once old agricultural villages these engines moved the farmers furth inland to now unproductive soils.In. revolution brought with child labour as children now had to leave school to work as the price of everything rose. the industrial revoluiton also had numerous revolts encompassed in it. in germany the industrial revoultion also has harsh realities in germany drunkness amongst men and women were more prevalent even amomgst children.the industrail revolution though have adverse effects on britian at the time did prove worthwhile as it added to our advancement. ido hope my answer was fruitfull i could go longer but would be the fun of u getting all the answers!!!lol
