Ok this movie starts with a guy painting in france or somewhere. And some guy pays him lots of money to create a rembrandt painting and he spends forever finding the right paper and right paint so if they test it , it will look authentic. then he paints it and it looks perfect. but now he decides not to sell it cause he thinks its wrong and tries to take the painting back and the guy that paid him to make it, frames him saying that the painter murdered someone for the painting. now he has to prove in court that he painted the picture by repainting it in the court room.

I've never seen amovie like this, but some of the plot reminds me of a book called "Bred in the Bone" by Canadian author Robertson Davies.
