topic. yeah, i can usually come up with ideas, but anti-tobacco! man, i jst cant think up anything, i was wondering if any1 knew some.

Here's something to write about....

It's wrong to be anti-tobacco!

Native people believe that tobacco is sacred. You can't preach to little Native kids that it is wrong to use tobacco. That's very insensitive and ethnocentric. It's kind of like telling a little Christian child to say no to the bible. It's not right.

What one should teach is "Don't Abuse Tobacco" because even the elders in Native beliefs teach that. That's not offensive but being anti-tobacco is.

Anyways, that's a different angle on it and it might impress your teacher!

I did this once at school and met with real success. The Cancer Society has a fabulous list of slogans. As well, they'll give you some really neat posters that look swell at school. You can call them. Better yet, go over and pick up all the stuff. They're really kind & generous.
