PC Magazine rates Norton Internet Security 2007 an editors choice.
The NIS 2007 firewall, antivirus, and antispyware all offer world-class protection. Optional antispam, privacy, and parental control modules are relatively weak, but that's better than having the strong antispam and weak antispyware of ZoneAlarm. And I love the firewall's silent but lethal program control—no popups!

All people are recommended to have 4 of them. I use the best ones:
Microsoft Defender (free)
Norton Anti virus (paid)
Lovasoft Ad-Aware SE Personal (free)
Spybot S&D (free)
AVG (free)
believe it or not this is what all the computer talk show guys say to do.

Grisoft AVG Free edition. It's available for free here:
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1
I use it in tandem with Lavasoft Ad-Aware SE Personal. It's a free anti-spyware/adware/general annoyance program available here:

Hope that helps,
