why do some people find the Liberals better than Conservatives?

Conservatives favor big business, homogenized values and less rights over the individual self determination...granted conservatives value capitalism more than the liberals, but that usually only benefits the upper middle class and upper class. If you are middle class or below, the economics of catering to the rich and businesses doesn't serve you after the employer is secure in his business...excess catering to the businesses doesn't help the common man....it's a balancing act, that's why there are 2 major parties.

The Conservatives would like to paint all Liberals as liking all social parasites, but they are simplifying the concept of Liberalism...I am blue collar and don't want benefits given to those who won't work (not those who can't) but I still call myself a Liberal, although a moderate Liberal because I think excesses by either side is bad

There is more room to breathe around liberals. They don't judge you quite as much as conservatives do. Conservatives tend to judge too much on religion and morals, even though the ones they think are right aren't always shared by other people. Liberals are much more open minded.

Conservatives want their own way and want to destroy or get rid of anyone who disagrees with them. That is what is going on in the other countries and it is scary. Either my way or get out of the country.
The liberals are live and let live and ignor what you don't like and change what you can. they are not for fighting to the death over small issues. You call a holiday greeting or holiday tree and the conservatives want to shoot you down in the street. It is a Christmas tree or a merry christmas. You don't do that you have to die. Now who does that sound like? They are just scary.

One's philosophy is not indicitave of their charecter.
So better or worse is kind of bogus. Liberals are dead wrong on each and every thing they think. That does not make me better than them, just becaue I am always right and correct on everything I believe. People are people. Good bad and everything in between, no matter how you want to group thm.
