The pilgrims were merely a small group of settlers fleeing britain as their form of religious dogma was at odds with the then form of british religious dogma. The pilgrims had stricter views on many 'crimes' and their punishments and so were encouraged to migrate. They were not religious liberals and bold adventurers as many believe. Furthermore the pilgrims were not the founding fathers of the USA. Government sponsored settlements of mainly French and British origin had existed in America for some time prior to the journey of the mayflower. As to the pilgrims providing the technological advances for forming the USA, that is boll*cks. The pilgrims would have starved to death without the Indians sharing produce and trapping/agricultural techniques with them. The pilgrims were for the most part english middle class with next to no experience of farming, hunting, fishing etc.The technological advances were the result of European governmental and finance group investment followed by the establishment of local industry.
As to how I know this. I was born and raised in plymouth, where the pilgrims were originally from. We have a large maritime museum there with a small but accurate section on the journey of the pilgrims.

At the same time the Pilgrim Fathers landed another group also did, they landed for a peculiar and particular reason. The reason is slowly becoming a fact. The answer to the problem of what the reason was can be found in the history of the Illuminati and Freemasons.

As a Brit as far as I know the Founding Fathers were the signatorys of the declaration of independance. It is a fallacy that the pilgrims were the founding fathers, why a large number of Americans believe it is a bit of a mystery. A failing of your educational system or just good P.R. for the Pilgrims

Depends on your definition of founding fathers as the red indians were there until mostly killed off by the peoples from europe etc who stole most of the land etc.
The Norse-Men were there well before the pilgrims together with others so what was special about the pilgrims?

Sure the Native people were already here, but the Pilgrims brought the technological advances of the day that truly led to the transformation of North America from what it was to what it now is.
At the time, it was survival of the fittest. European Armies and Native Tribes fought against each other all the time for power and land.

I think the need of wood and other resources was why the Pilgrims came to America. so really the need for resources was the founding father of America. But that's just what i think. :)

besides the fact that if Founding Fathers or pilgrims, all of them got here to visit to united statesa. to get out from under the non secular oppression and taxation. What distinction does it make now? Our political leaders, right this moment, don't have the comparable ideals as those that created the "shape" and the "invoice of rights". Ours isn't a central authority "Of the human beings", "by the human beings" and "For the human beings" anymore!

According to our history books they are. They created the USA, not Indians. Winners write the history books. I'm sure theres a lot that went on we'll never know!

No, the founding fathers were there already. They were called INDIANS. I have been watching 'Into The West'. and cried with rage at the injustice done to these noble people.
