I recently bought a Linksys N PCI adapter and it had loads of driver issues so I'm taking it back. Since the stores near me don't carry a Linksys 108mbps adapter I want to know if another brand would work.

I currently have a Linksys router with SRX 200...

Look at your Router. It should be 802.11b or 802.11g or BOTH. Then get a wireless adapater that meets that spec.

While you should get a LinkSys wireless adapter, since they ARE THE BEST, you can try a different brand. Visit http://www.newegg.com and look for LinkSys...

Good luck and Happy Computing!

802.11 g b or a (but not n) is a universal standard and should all work together. They may be some exceptions but I've not ever heard of one. I use a Dlink router and each one of my 4 computers have non Dlink brand wireless cards. Never a problem.

Yes, infact WiFi adapters atomactically search, and with your permission connect, to WiFi networks in range, note: When instaling the adapter DON'T put the disk in untill the Add New Hardware asks for it.

as long as your adapter is nicely matched with the same on the spot protocol because the I.E.: 802.11A/B/G/N maximum more recent routers are BG nicely matched G is backwards nicely matched with B purely verify the manufacturers internet web site to asure compatibility

I believe you have a newer "N" protocol

OK i reread your question, YES another "N" will work. But i've read that the new faster "N" double speed is not as good as it is advertized, as far as strenght, range and speed.

Some things may not work like the older "in order protocols"

A
B
G
N

Yes any brand should work. Just usually easier to setup if they are the same.

Yes, the brand does not matter and as long as you have it for 802.11g/b or any compatible.

any brand should work, if it conforms to the IEEE standard, and they all do.
