Obviously you have no idea what you are talking about. Every state is implementing MANDATORY jail terms for even first time offenders for specific sex crimes, including those young men caught in the "Romeo/Juliet" relationships where the girl lied about her age. You are basing your views on local new stories about how offenders are only getting light probation for some offense. Because of these types of sentences, laws are being drafted and past to make it impossible for judges to give light sentences anymore. Most states now have minimum 10-20 years for any crimes involving anyone under the age of consent, even if he/she were boyfriend/girlfriend. Some states have implemented the DEATH PENALTY for repeat offenders (violent predators and child molesters, which By the way a guy who commits statutory rape is a child molester, even if it is consentual on the part of both parties involved). And just registering, do you have no idea what registering does to you? Once you are registered EVERYONE can see where you live, you can't find work, if you do find work someone will complain about them hiring a sex offender so you get fired. You must register every time you move, and finding a place to live is almost impossible in most states now as most states now have a residency restriction of anywhere between 1000-2500 feet from schools, churches, day cares, parks, bus stops, school bus stops, recreation centers, etc. Georgia now has a law that you can't live or loiter within 1000 feet of any of the above mentioned. This practically makes most cities and towns in Georgia off limits to all sex offenders, not just those considered pedophiles and sexually violent predators. There are over 10,000 sex offenders in Georgia who must move, and don't forget that even skinny dipping and guys who made the mistake of having sex with their underage girl friend fall under this new law. IF and that is IF you can find a place to live, and you can find a job, you live with the stigma of EVERYONE knowing who you are because they can look you up on a website. And some states have made the registry retroactive, so that no matter when the offense occurred, and whether you were guilty or innocent but copped a plea deal because you couldn't afford a good lawyer to defend yourself, you must now register, sometimes for life. Worse yet, Florida just passed a law where all sex offenders, no matter what the offense, will be issued an orange drivers license/id card with SEX OFFENDER stamped across it. So no matter where you go that you must show an ID, the bar, or shopping or whatever, everyone around you will see the orange license (Remember the Scarlet Letter?). My question is, are you so sure you aren't a sex offender and just were never caught? Do you even know exactly what can land you on the sex offender's registry? Each state is slightly different, but some states even put child abusers on theirs. In Colorado you can end up on it for Indecent Exposure which is defined as (1) A person commits indecent exposure if he knowingly exposes his genitals to the view of any person under circumstances in which such conduct is likely to cause affront or alarm to the other person. So if the bar closes and you really need to use the bathroom, don't take a leak next to a dumpster, because if there is anyone around, you just committed a sex offense. Also, don't streak (big thing in the 1970s) or skinny dip and get caught, because you would be a sex offender for those too.

People are hard on them, but the JUSTICE SYSTEM IS NOT HARD ENOUGH ON THEM, most likely because maybe alot of judges have sexual perversions of their own...
Sex is natural that is true, but the reason a person is an offender are for reasons beyond a normal sex drive...
Usually the way they were brought up, or by watching Porno movies, like TED BUNDY DID...
The offender offends to have the sex, but it is also a power trip for the offender to say RAPE a women of her dignity...
From what I hear and read on these topics...

I think that this is a valid question. I mean, why is society harder on pedophiles that on, say, white collar criminals who steal people's life savings or people who kill their husbands or wives. I believe sexual assault and other sexual crimes combines the two elements of sex and violence in a way that frightens many people. I heard someone once say that Sex and Death are the two universal human obsessions and so combining them is very powerful. Also, sexual assault is one the most personal violations of a person and in our society, where so much focus is placed on the individual, individual development and individual rights. In other societies, rape and sexual crimes did not carry the weight that it does today, In Chaucer, for example, rape was treated as a joke and in many societies, rape was treated as a property crime, not a crime against the person like theft or assault.
Rape isn't really about sex it's about something more than sex: power. If rapists just wanted sex, they'd go to prostitutes. The whole notion of one person having that sort of violent power over another is frightening to us too, especially if that person is a child. Nothing inspires more paranoia in parents than a pedophile, even though the chances of a child being hit by a car are thousands of times greater. This relationship of power and powerlessness holds tremendous weight.

Depends---hope you feel that way if one of your children is raped or even killed my a pedophile. Now "sex-offenders" today can be a wide range of offenses, some of which are not serious. However- anytime someone is forcibly making someone have sex against there will, this is not about sex. It's about power, and hate. These people are very sick and need "extra hard attention".

Something tells me your a sex offender. Just because you have a high sex drive doesn't mean you have to go messing around with little kids and taking their pictures inappropriately! I can't believe you're really asking this question. I personally think that sex offenders should be castrated!

Because of what sex means, and also means to other people. It is a symbol of purity, love. When people violate that purity, that love, people get very upset because they consider it the same as robbing them or even killing them because they are robbed of that love and purity.
Have you ever seen a victim of rape dude...it's not a pretty sight, they might as well be dead because to them their life is over, they loose trust and faith in everything and everyone around them.
Some are lucky enough to face those who did it to them and get over it, but most don't and spend the rest of their life locked up inside where they feel safe.
I know someone like this who has like 10 locks on all her outer doors, bars on her windows, and double locks on all inner doors. Security cameras everywhere, alarm monitors everywhere, a panic room...it's just horrific to see her like this.

Because they are sex offenders simple & plain. They get more mercy then they really deserve. Nothing about them is natural. They are insane. They possess the worst of all insanity.

Ok........... Whatever, dude. Yea, it is natural to have a sex drive, but most people are not turned on by children and if someone gets turned on by raping someone then they have a problem. And if you couldn't figure this out for yourself, then you have a problem.
