It's a great gift. But it's really hard to find right now. eBay might be your only chance. And that is pretty pricey. You can also go for a Wii, which will be restocked on the 18th. And won't be as pricey.

No. You won't be able to find it this Christmas since there is a shortage, unless you want to pay more than double or tripple the price on Ebay. There are also very few games on the PS3. You best bet is the Xbox 360. It's cheaper, have more games, the graphic looks unbelievable on a HDTV and you can get it everywhere.

it is but it's like 600 dollars and then you would have to get him a game too if your not that rich get a wii it's only $230 and it has the coolest controlers because if ur playing a racing game you turn the controler right it turns right. or get him a xbox 360 it's like $300. but the PS3 is cool

The PS3 would be great, but it's just about impossible to find unless you're willing to pay A LOT of money on ebay or somewhere else on line.

I think you can get it almost anywhere, but most stores are probably sold out for now.

get friendly with you local video game stores.. check with them often.. and youll be able to land one.. hopefully..
and wow.. thats one lucky bf to get a ps3 for christmas..
