a car is traveling 22mi/hr and speeds up to 50mi/hr in 6 sec. what is the acceleration? i dont need the answer i would just like a formula. if you have any ideas or clues that would really help. thank you!

Acceleration = (Final speed - Initial Speed) / Time it took for the change to occur.

assuming the acceleration is constant during the time interval then:
acceleration=(change in velocity)/(change in time)=
(final velocity-initial velocity)/(change in time)

you will probably want to make sure your units are equivalent
you will want to convert miles/hour to mile/sec

This is a very basic question.
Accerleration is the rate of change of velocity.
a=(v-u)/t

It's in any high shcool physics book I bet.

Vf=at+Vi
change hour to second and plug them in.
