No your not at all and yes that would be good for him. Everyone needs to get more involved with some type of community service. Good for you stick to it and make him get out and help others. After all said and done he will feel good about it.

Good for you Happy Holidays

No! You're not wrong AT ALL! Kids need to learn the value of a good day's work and helping others. If they can do both at the same time, it's a win/win situation. My 14 yr old daughter has raised thousands of dollars for The American Cancer Society as well as volunteering at the primary school where she reads to the kids in the mornings. She also has plans to visit a local nursing home this holiday season to go caroling! Let your grandson be mad. He'll get over it and be a better person for it!

The answer is clear crystal.
No, You are not wrong at all.
He will gain experience and when he get the money, he will feel the taste of working and the money that is earned by his own hands.
He will be more mature and more dependant upon himself and he will thank you in the future. It will build his personality.
Go for it, everything at the begining is hard, but as soon as a week will pass, he will get used to his work and find it interesting, coz we are human beings and directly get intimate with our surounding.
Work is the most important issue in this century...

He'll pout for awhile but stick to your guns, he'll thank you later in life. A super big problem with today's youth is no work ethic and too much of everything just given to them.
