africans were chosen, they weren't african americans yet, they were taken from africa and it was partly because they were already traded as slaves in africa, and also because the native americans new the land too well in the new world and could escape, also the native americans were not as experienced in cultivating crops as the africans were, these are some of the reasons, there are alot more

Because the european and american continents had become dependent upon each other for the service of delivering the slave and needing the slave. Paying for the services would have reduced the profits for cotton and then tobacco to the point it would have been hardly profitable. A sad commentary, but true.

The same is true today for the cocaine trade and for prostitution.

They were sold for cheap by their African Kings, and they were many in number. They had endurance for the jungle and extreme heat, however no one thought of the extreme cold and they were not used to ocean voyages, thus for there were many deaths because of the weather change, and or altitude. They were not chosen. It was merely many factors coming into play at the time. African tribes practiced slavery amongst themselves before the Europeans. Defeated tribes simply became slaves. African tribes sold their slaves to Arabs who in turn sold them to Europeans who needed cheap labor to work in the New World which had just been discovered.

Over the course of human history Jews, Greeks etc were slaves.

They were differant enough in appearances that the white Europeans were willing to sell them without any moral qualms, and because of inter-tribal conflict, they were willing to sell each other out. Also they had immunity to most of the Europeans diseases, something that Native Americans lacked, and thus could not be used.

From my point of view i believe it is has to with racism and dehumanisation but this could be my biasness because i am from "the new world" namely the caribbean. one point that the european used to engage in this practise was economic but african slavery began with the consent of roman catholic priest La Casa his fight was against the enslavement and abuse of the Ameridians. he said that is was better to use Africans they were accustomed to hard work and were harsh conditions / climate. a nxt point under racism; Africa was considered a newly developed nation and the european now going under the Imperial revolution (seeking ownership of what they considered savage and backward nation which we had to remamber served their economic benefit) Africa was rich in wealth, and minerals namely bullion GOLD and they wanted to gain this.and to get rid of this they had to get rid of the population, this is why this scheme came about the majority of the africans came from the gold coast not because of its wealth in gold but of the vast majority of gold that as traded there (man for gold). this gold coast was located on the west coast of africa. now i know i rattled on i simply wanted you to know the background into slavery. to conclude there was no true evidence to show that it was for racism or dehumanisation but points mainly to economic. my biasness only points to racism but let me remind u that we are all bias.because we have opinions based on experiences.i do hope my answer was usefull
