I've had tendinitis in my hands and wrists, and I found I got the best advice from a good physical therapist. You might want to ask around to get information about physical therapists near your area, and find out which ones are good with hands and arms. If you're on a tight budget, PTs are a lot less expensive than doctors, and they can give you exercises specifically for your type of thumb tendinitis. If expenses are not too tight, it's a good idea to do the exercises they give you regularly and then to check back with the PT on a regular basis until your tendinits starts to heal. I recommend professional advice because hands are so necessary in all we do, and you want to make sure you don't make your pain worse. Good luck!
