My husband (age 39) isn't feeling well and his skin looks yellowish. What could this be? He has an appointment to see the doctor on Tuesday.

Not good. In addition to various liver problems, which are never trivial, jaundice can be a symptom of pancreatic cancer. I hate to say it, but this is probably serious. Nothing that is likely to get worse by Tuesday, but go to the doctor's office (not into the examining room) with him, in case the doctor wants to explain what's happening to both of you. Good luck - and I hope I'm being overly pessimistic.

If he's yellow that is a symptom of jaundice. It happens because of high levels of iron in the body or a problem with the liver. Have him go to the doctor asap, get bloodwork done, they can help him out from there.

That condition is called Jaundice and is associated with his liver. It is good that you are going to see a Dr. It may be a gall bladder problem, a gall stone stuck in his bile duct, or some other liver problem. Excessive alcohol consumption causes liver problems as well as exposure to certain chemicals.
You can't live without your Liver, so it is important to find out right away. Hope it is something minor.

There are many things it could be. Is he vomiting? Diarrhea?Pain? Does he drink Alcohol? How much? How often?

If he is in pain, and is having problems with breathing, dont wait to go to the doc, go to the ER.
