I'd just have to get it off myself because the laws are written here so that anarchy rules. It doesn't matter if I see anyone illegally dumping on my property or my neighbor's, even if I take pictures!

If someone dumped a mattress at the side of my house they would have had to have had a car or truck to load it from somewhere. This may mean they live somewhere in the local area. Why would they dump it anyway?
Someone once dumped garbage at my apt door for days and I was really upset. They thought my apt door was the incinerator door. Also They were from India and dumping garbage anywhere was their habit backhome. I opened the garabage and traced the garbage tothe apt where it was coming from. Trace the people's car or truck for the mattress incident. They may think your place is the local dumping yard or something and don't know any better.Do not allow this to occur again.

Unfortuanately, I'd be out there the second I saw this happening and definitely would confront him! I may be sorry, but that is how I handle things. You should see me when people walk their dogs on my property line. I watch them until they are off of my property. I confronted one person once because they didn't have a bag with them to collect their dogs droppings! This drives me crazy! I have two dogs and I never walk them without a bag. A mattress on my property would probably send me through the roof!!!!

Unless the side of your house is a dump site, of course you confront the person, or if your scared, get their detailed infromation and call the police.
