For the past year and a half my periods have been spacing farther and farther apart, at times 3-4 months apart. At the beginning I also had occassional night sweats. Other than that, I don't have any other obvious problems. Based on this, my doctor believes I may be in peri-menopause. Are there any other symptoms of perimenopause, or could this be something else? I'm 43 years old. Thanks for your answers.

The symptoms of peri-menopause are irregular vaginal bleeding,
hot flashes and night sweats, and mood symptoms. You have actually hit menopause when you do not have a period for 12 months. So, it sounds like you are peri-menopausal. I am 47 and just this last year my periods have become irregular. I don't have hot flashes or mood swings as of yet and hope it remains that way! My periods use to be every 28 days like clockwork, now they are every 2-3 months. I don't see a doctor for this, I consider myself "happy as a clam" to finally be rid of my period!

I had a few night sweats - nothing to get upset about. My main symptom was being horny all the time!
