I would rather have the PS3, but $600 might just be too much. And I sold my PS2, so I want something to play soon.

My question is, why did PS3 go Blu-Ray? Because I have played some games on XBox 360 such as Madden, where they don't have that many features. For example, you cannot play Franchise Mode on Madden for XBox 360. Is it always going to be like this, because there is not enough space on the disc to fit the graphics and the features, or is it just because EA hasn't gotten the hang of it yet?

Please give educated answers. Thanks.

Can a disc hold features and graphics for the XBox 360? Because for Madden, you cannot play franchise mode. That happens as well in other games, where features included in PS2 or XBox games are not included in the XBox 360 version. How come?

I think EA just didn't get the hang of it yet. The beginning of a systems lifespan always brings games of much lesser quality than what will eventually come to it.

The PS3 [at this point] does not have many outstanding games. It's pretty much just Resistance Fall of Man.

At this point, the 360 would be a easier choice because it simply has a larger game library [it has been out for a year]. Also, it's a few hundred bucks cheaper.

The graphics are also very close in quality.

Well I have a PS3 and I have had no problems with it, it works real good and I am real happy with it. Blu-ray's hold way more then DVD's and runs a lot faster and gives a clearer picture.

I think it was X-box bad, not going blu-ray and it is totally possible that EA had to cut stuff for it to fit on the disk. They have made enough games to know what they are doing. Plus every thing will turn to blu-ray just like VHS turned into DVD

But if you can not afford a PS3, you might not have any choice but to wait for it or get 360.

or just go for a Wii (It is up too you)

But so far I am happy with PS3 and I have had it since Nov. 24th

So good luck on you're decision.

The X360 is a much better choice, no matter what category you look at. The price is much lower, you can get a used one that is still in great shape at a local gaming store (i.e. Game Crazy or EB Games) for even less than new. The game selection is much more vast. The kinks have been worked out. The graphics are just as good. You name it, it seems like Microsoft has Sony beat.

Blu-Ray technology is good, if you don't scratch up your discs at all. It allows for you to store loads more information on one disc. Check out http://whatis.techtarget.com/definition/0,,sid9_gci810790,00.html for a full definition. However, there is a catch. Any Blu-Ray disc that gets a scratch at all can not be buffed out or cleaned. In other words, if you scratch your game, and want to play it again, you HAVE to shell out the money for the game AGAIN. And that is why I think Sony did that. They know they can make money off selling the same people the same game time after time.

I would go for the Xbox 360. It has been out longer, and is therefore cheaper. PS3 came out, and I don't have one, but I remember before they came out, there was discussion that PS3's would probably be defective for a while just like Xbox 360 was. But now, the Xbox 360's were fixed up, and thus, I recommend to get a new Xbox 360. If you still want a PS3, you should at least wait a while, when the prices go down.

PS3 does go blue ray, and the PS3 is going to cheaper next year, and the Xbox 360 has really good graphics, but it's meant for HDTV
