Yeah, like the previous fella said, for any of The Sims games its always good to have 1GB of RAM since that came tends to demand much of your computer's attention, also it helps greatly when it comes to having the game run smoothly and not having those awkward pauses in the game or 'screen skips'.

first of all, open the case up and seem on the cable interior. There are 2 cables that run to the decrease back of the CD-ROM. One is ability and the different is archives. verify both one among those cables and make effective that neither of them got here lose. next, follow the great cable, archives cable, to the position that it connects to on the motherboard. make effective that that is plugged in and under no circumstances lose. once you've a glue gun, you may also position a dab of warm glue on the outdoors of the connector on the cable, and glue it to the device to carry it in. convinced, it is probability-free. in case you're trying all of this and the CD-ROM continues to be no longer operating, then that is more desirable than in all danger lifeless and could opt to get replaced. Cables can come lose from transferring a computer, or perhaps from by danger hitting it. It sounds trivial and the majority will swear up and down that they have got checked this, yet I absolutely have had computers that had that challenge and after I fastened it and closed the case up lower back, I had to bypass decrease back in and glue them in position.

Yes but you may want to upgrade your ram to 1G. You will have to run down a lot of the visual features so that you don't have major lag in the game.

sims2 would work on both, but like others said: try to upgrade ram. it will be totally worth it. much faster, better computing. i would go with putting it on the desktop because of the bigger hard drive and i like intel, but your choice. have fun with sims2! i love sims2. awesome game.
