go to Microsoft .com and type in w32 virus in the search box. It should bring up a download with instructions on how to get rid of the w32 virus. Most of this type virus requires that you disable system restore run the removal soft ware, reboot your computer and then enable system restore. The reason for this is that a copy of the virus is stored on your restore partition. you can remove it from your working drive but when you reboot the restore section will re-install it on the working drive.

Microsoft malicious software removal tool (free) of Windows Defender (Vista Beta) does a nice job in removing this type of virus. BE SURE TO PRINT A COPY OF THE REMOVAL INSTRUCTIONS AND FOLLOW IT TO THE LETTER.

You can use any decent antivirus software program to remove it. Its an old virus. If you want to manually remove it, Sophos, a leading security software vendor, has instructions on how to do so (http://www.sophos.com/security/analyses/w32weird10240.html). the website has 3 tabs, click on the "Recovery" tab for instructions on how to remove it.
