A big con would be you never know if you'll regret it. Regret isn't something you can get rid of. If are pregnant and uninterested in becoming a parent I highly recommend adoption. It is a loving, unsefish, and responsible way to deal with an unplanned pregnancy. All parties involved benefit from it. The birthparents get the benefit of not becoming parents when they feel unready, the adoptive parents get the benefit of a precious little baby to love and raise, and the baby gets the benefit of a loving, stable home. You can even choose the adoptive couple yourself if you want. There is a website where you can look at the profiles of couples who are waiting to adopt. It's www.itsaboutlove.org. Good luck!

why do people like you always try to get people riled up with questions like this? If you want to know some pros and cons of abortions, go look at the answers to the person who asked the same question yesterday, and the day before, and the day before that, and the day before that!

In what context? As individual or society?

As individual? Its obvious its better not to get in situation requiring the choice.

Pros:
a) convenience. Obviously you don't have to wait 9 months.
b) in some rare case, pregancy may be dangerous to the mother.
c) adoption may be right change in some cases but emotionally its not easy to do.

Cons:
a) any operation is undesirable if it can be avoided.
b) sometimes there's risk.
c) emotionally its hard for a woman to do this too.
c) the issue of killing fetus/baby depending on how long pregnancy and ones beliefs too.

I'm very much pro-choice. Always have been. I always thought it could be right for some people, but not for me! Until I got pregnant. I think for some people it is the right choice, but for me it will be something I will regret for the rest of my life! Think long and hard because once you do it you can't take it back!

a friend of mine had an abortion, these people who say its MURDER PERIOD obviously have not been in the situation!!
My friend used a condom, it broke then went to the dr. for the morning after pill and it did not work then unfortunately had to have an abortion. If u asked me she made the right decision for the position her and her partner were in, financially unstable and young!! people should not comment on subjects they know nothing about!!!!!!!!! good question by the way.

First of all let me ask you (if you are thinking of having an abortion and to all those who have) did that baby ask to be brought in this world? Who is the one that decided to spread thier legs for a little bit of 15 minutes fun? I dont think it was the baby... DING DING it was you... dont take it out on a beautiful innocent baby, if you cant take responsibilty of your actions, there is a thing called ADOPTION. Try it, give that baby a life to someone who will love it. There are millions of people out in this world who would give their leg to have a baby but just weren't "blessed" with the "baby making gene" so give it up for an adoption to someone who would give that baby the life you never could or wanted to. Please if you are thinking of abortion, please dont, its pure selfishness and murder.

I never ever met a woman who had an abortion who was proud of that fact. Certainly no one wants that fact to be mentioned at their funeral as a great life moment.

In fact, with the possible exception of those who were raped, they all have deep regrets about it.

If you have one, aside from the possible medical complications, you'll always regret it, and always carry shame from it.

in my opinion, the only pro to abortion is if a woman has gotten raped. other than that, u had sex and got pregnant, u need to go through the nine months and labor to have the baby
