I know this sounds stupid, but I'm in a place where I hurt so much. I'm tired of feeling depressed and tired of what goes on in my mind. People don't realize that I am a great person. It's just that I have Bipolar disorder and some day my mood isn't all that great. I'm human, but my friends don't understand it and neither does my job. I lost my job, I hate my life, and I'm losing the fight to live everyday...

There is help, have you seen a Dr.There are many people out there, who are suffering with the same problem.
People probably would be sorry to see you go, but then they would go on with their own busy lives.
You are a unique human being whether you know it or not, you don't have to prove to anyone what you can and cannot do, I am sorry you lost your job, if you don't have health insurance there are places in your state where you can go for help.
If you hate your life it is up to you to try and change it, there are a lot of people who struggle everyday to get through the day for some reason or another, and most of us have low points that we go through, it is a matter of holding on, and if your friends don't understand, it is time for new friends.
Bless you. Sorry there were no answers when I was typing so i didnt say anything that you had not heard already.

Firstly get some real help. You need to find some good professionals just now. If you've been diagnosed bi-polar then they should have you on something to help with this. Your neurotransmitter levels will totally influence the set and flow of your thoughts. It's a spiral downwards. I know, because I get this myself.

Ways out include changing your life, exercising, new activities, lots more people time-social contact, volunteering, new work, get out and about, be involved with the world and a damned good diet. And friends.

But in addition however, you may have to have the support of an appropriate prescription if your disorder is organic otherwise you may feel that you keep picking yourself up only to fall down again. Years in therapy is not necessary but good effective solid intervention may well be. I urge you to see someone, FAST.

It starts with a small step. You realise you need some support. Get that first. Then take it from there, and add other positive steps. Be it activity, work, people, diet, learning new things..all of these things add in-over time. Get yourself into working on yourself, your life and contributing into the lives of others. The latter suggestion may do a hell of a lot for you. Just again I reiterate, take a first step and get some professional help. Advice on here cannot replace proper personal professional counselling and diagnosis.

Bipolar is treatable with medication. Get on it and continue to take it even when you're feeling well. People don't understand unless they go thru this. Don't give up on your life...if necessary, find new friends...and get a better job. You can have a great life in the future, but you have to be willing to work for it...you can start by getting rid of this idea to commit suicide. It's a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Yes people may be sad and miss you for awhile, but eventually they will move on with their lives and be happy...meanwhile you're dead! So hang in there and fight for the same kind of life that you deserve!

I have wondered that about my life. I have often said this. my family and friends would throw a "yeah..she's finally gone party" and then the next week..not even remember I existed" because all I do is take up space. I am a great person but nobody notices and nobody cares when I do something great..everybody lets me know and reminds me EVERY DAY of my life when I screw up. I don't have the answers..I wish I did. If you are no longer, you should qualify for benefits (social security ) again..

with voice of sympathy: man that sucks. I sort of know how you feel, myself I've been alienating people lately with my moods, yelling at them and unable to control my behavior. So you lost the job, that's really awful. Have you tried applying for SSDI yet? If your bipolar symptoms are really remarkable, and do obviously affect the ability to do your job, you should be able to get it without much problem.
As for feelings of depression, try to get into something new and exciting, try to learn about Eastern medicine concepts of energy, accupuncture, take up martial arts. Find a socially acceptable aggressive outlet. Myself I am considering taking up boxing.
Good luck, I feel for you.

Go hangout outside and check the birds out or something and remember there is more to life than most people realize. I like watching children play and laugh when I feel down.

I have a cousin with bipolar disorder, and she goes through the same periods of darkness. What I tell her is that the people who have hurt her are unworthy of her, and that they are garbage when compared to her. I tell her that if she kills herself, then they win. She's given her power over to these wastes of skin, and she's a better person than that. I tell her that a better sense of vengeance would be gotten by being happier than the miserable souls who did this to her. She is a goddess amongst insects.

That usually works. :-)

God, please don't hurt yourself. I love you and care about you as a fellow human being. Talk to your doctor about your medication, tell you friends and shrink about it. Don't give up the fight. I know people who are leading great lives in spite of being bipolar and you can too. I implore you to tell people how your feeling because you may not realize it but people do care about you, and I appreciate you.
