Why do poor people hate on the rich so much?
Is it jealously or just hate?

I think, like Naenae said, it brings about more frustration than anything, as television glamorizes what many do not have - sort of a, look what I have and you don't kind of thing. Many years ago, when "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" aired with Robin Leach as the host, we were excited to see how the rich lived. In today's climate, we see this on a variety of shows and they try to portray it as though the rich is like the rest of the working class and they aren't.

Poor people struggle from day to day to make it. The other day I watched a show from the guy that did the documentary about eating at McDonald's for 30 days - now he is doing one about living on minimum wage salaries for 30 days. What some of us take for granted (and we don't even climb close to the "rich" category), the people at this income level basically starve for. Talk about needing the basics in life: medical insurance! How many rich people get hurt and worry about not being able to work the next day because they are afraid to miss a work just to stand in line at the free clinic and then be told, sorry, no more patients to be seen by the doctor, go to emergency.

So, it probably isn't a matter of hate as much as it is envy. We all want those lovely creature comforts in life.

Jealousy (minus the extra l) I know I am. Not that I love money I just want more of it. I think I am watching lifestyles of the rich and famous just too much. Also it would be better to say rich vs poor because the rich are in the leading position and the poor can't challenge the rich. Semantics sorry.

i wouldn't say so much jeulousy or hate, but if everyday it is a fight to survive for you but you see someone else living a luxorous life not ever having to worry about how your gonna make next months rent, it would hurt you too, to know that could have been you if only you were a differnt color or if you would have married into the right family, or for some people there is no way they are gonna ever make it out of poverty, it would frusterate you too.
