Okay I am using someones note and they have something that says:

Hci

Is that even an element? If not, than would it be HCi or HCI??

In another part of the note they refered to it ans Hci dioxide ...Dunno if that helps...

The Hci is probably HCl...hydrochloric acid
The Hci dioxide is probably HClO2...chlorous acid (which is somewhat unstable, but forms stable chlorite salts, eg NaClO2)

Alternatively, if the note refers to the action of chlorine with water, the two acids formed are HCl and HClO (hypochlorous acid)

Tell your friend that you will stop using his/her notes unless the penmanship is improved :-))

I am sure that nony and fcb1012 are correct: HCl. The other, I am sure, is ClO2, chlorine dioxide. There is no HCl dioxide.
