L+5=2W

2(L+W)=230

In the first L=2W-5, so sub this in for L in the 2nd equat.

2(2W-5+W)=230
2(3W-5)=230
6W - 10 = 230
6W=240
W=40 FT.
L=2(40)-5=75 FT.

CHECK:
2(40+75)=2(115)=230 OK

l = 2w - 5

2l + 2w = 230

2(2w - 5) + 2w = 230

4w - 10 + 2w = 230

6w = 240

w = 40

l = 75
