Most Americans are ignorant of other cultures (unfortunately) and go on what they see on television. If they see someone from Great Britian with an accent, they just figure that that's how everyone there speak. It's rather sad, and it's one reason why I'm hoping to move out of America once I graduate from highschool.

that's stereotyped to be extra posh than cockney. (I had no idea what cockney meant till the day previously immediately) in any case, even as i became a lot youthful, i could not hear a lot of a huge difference even as it got here to English accents, now i will. even as it includes British accents: -Scottish is so distinct and far available. that's surely exciting to take heed to. it form of appears like there is such fairly some twists and turns to easily one be conscious. -Irish purely sounds cool. -The English accent makes me imagine of Emma Watson (do not comprehend why) -the Cockney accent is soo humorous, in a reliable way

It's the same reason people think folks from the Southern U.S. all have a "Southern" accent. I was born and raised in Louisiana and have a Cajun accent, but most people don't believe me because I don't speak in the Southern drawl. They just think people from certain areas all sound the same.

It's the stereotype. I know from living over in your country that you people have a lot of different accents, but alas, the generalization lives on...

Not all people do. People who do haven't much desire to learn any differently. There are English people who think we all sound like Southerners, New Yorkers, etc.

If you haven't been to a place, it can be difficult not to buy into a stereotype and lots of people haven't been to U.K.
