I'm hoping to take my wife in a spa resort in an around Toronto or Niagara Falls since this is her first Christmas away from her family. But in North America, virtually everything is closed on the night of the 23rd, 24th, 25th. Obviously the casino will be open but I don't want to gamble all the time. Can anyone help?

Yes you are right that there is a lot of things closed during those days, but in Niagara Falls there are still a lot of restaurants open for those that do make there way here.
Fallsview Casino has a spa located inside, I work at the Casino (not the spa) but we all work those days nothing shuts down for our holidays.

You can also try The Marriott Fallsview Hotel & Spa, although sometimes they are pretty booked up, but with the holidays they may not be.

There is also a Doubletree here that offers an Aveda Spa, that I have heard very good things about.

The answerer above is right the Pillar in a nice place, not too sure if they will be open though they are not as touristy as we are.

Just to let you know at the casino, there are shops, restaurants, live entertainment (although you would have to go to the gaming floor for that---in the 365 Club-something goes on there everyday), as well as the actual hotel, and spa, fitness centre, and you never have to go outside if you do not want to.

We actually now also have 3 waterparks in the city that are indoor if that interests you at all. Great Wolf Lodge, Americana and Fallsview Water Park.

Really that time of year you may be able to find something of interest.

I have included some websites for you to check out.

Drop me a line if you need any more info.

I would try the Pillar & Post Resort & Spa in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. It is about 20 minutes from Niagara Falls, and is a quaint getaway. The resort itself has a wonderful spa, and it is a fabulous place to go during the holiday season - everything is beautifully and traditionally decorated, the food is fabulous, and the ambiance can't be beat. Plus there are carriage rides avaailable around the historic part of the town. It is our favorite place to go off the beaten track when I visit my parents around Christmastime. Day passes to the spa are available if you do not want to spend the night - though I highly recommend staying at least one night. Check the more luxury hotels, Sheraton, Doubletree, Hilton, Fallsview, Canadian Niagara Hotels, etc. The problem here in the falls is that everybody else wants to celebrate Christmas themselves, leaving tourists to be bored out of their skulls. Load up on the booze and and go to the falls at christmas night, that's when it starts becoming populated again after Christmas eve and morning!

A lot of the hotels have spas in them, you don't need to be a guest to book a treatment (but it's nice if it's alll in the same place). Check online for some travel deals, they should tell you if spas are available.
