I have to do one that is 3-4 minutes, but can't think of an appropiate subject to do it on.

Do a subject on something you think is interesting. How about racism. Tell about your own personal experiences with others looking at you differently because you're another color. Tell about people who tried to stop racism (Dr. Martin Luther King) and the people who mostly started it.

Anything that interests you that you already know a lot about. This way you don't have to do very much memorizing. And if your excited to talk about your subject, everyone else will be excited to listen.
