I drink alcohol because I come from a culture which habitually enjoys ll meals except breakfast with a drink. But I often decide not to because alcoholic drinks (note: not the alcohol per se, but the beverage it's encased in) can really wreck your health, unless you invest good money in some excellent ones, like Chateauneuf du Pape or organic wines, and organic or German beer brewed according to an ancient purity law.
I often think I should quit drinking altogether, because I cannot afford to drink the stuff I would like to drink, and it makes me unwell and discontented wih my choices, but then there is also the relaxing effect of alcohol, which is often welcome when I am otherwise unable to wind down in the evening because I am a generally nervous and anxious person.

I don't drink. My parents never really drank (except for a special occasion) so I was never really around alcohol when I was younger so I never really thought about trying it. I learned about what it can do to you from school so I'm not really jumping at the chance to try it (maybe when I turn 21). I have always been in control with my actions and I guess I just never want to experience being "out of control" because I might regret something I do...
I had to go to an AA meeting for my health class and lot of people there said they gave up drinking to turn their life around and also because of family. They wanted to start over and make things right. The meeting was a great experience and I was glad I went.

people don't drink becausre they are not stupid. and they don't want to die because they drive carelessly and pass out.
