i was talking about it with some friends and some of them are wondering if the ppl that made that movie just did it because they knew it would be a good hit and get money off of it, and others think that they made it to really show how bad that horrible day was. so i was wonderin y u think they made it?

I don't think it is to show how horrible that day was, or else I think they would have shown the crashes in the towers and so on, but these are hidden.
I think the context of 9/11 is a background to the story which focuses more on the experience of the men stuck under the concrete, the other victims, the families, the people, not on the event. You can find the same things in other movies of this genre.So I guess setting the movie on this specific day is a tribute to the victims.

I think they really wanted to show how real, and horrible it was. It was very horrible.
