log(x+4)-log(x)=log(x+2)
log((x+4)/x)=log(x+2)
Take antilog on both sides
(x+4)/x=(x+2)
(x+4) = x*(x+2)
x+4=x^2+2x
x^2+x-4=0
Solve the above use quadratic solution
x=(-1+sqrt(1+16))/2 or (-1-sqrt(1+16))/2
since x cannot be negative
x = (-1+sqrt(17))/2
